Grace and the Ghost
Trapped inside her messy studio apartment, Grace is fighting a quiet, exhausting battle against severe anxiety and depression. The door is locked, her room is a graveyard of unpacked boxes, and the outside world feels entirely out of reach. But through a piano, a music box, and the haunting melodies in her head, she searches for a way to break through the paralysis. Grace and the Ghost is an intimate, raw, and deeply relatable new musical that explores the heavy weight of mental health—and the fragile, flickering hope of finding your voice in the dark. Or follow Grace, a reclusive young pianist who befriends the shadow on her wall. During a sudden blackout, this "shadow" takes physical form, and the two are forced to face their own stagnation, as well as the consequences of physical touch. Before the sun rises, they must decide. Who should inhabit the body that exists between them? A lonely living person who wishes they could disappear, or a discontented spirit desperate for a second chance? Through it all, Grace and the Ghost illuminates the process of healing through our darkest moments in order to take a brave step back into the light.
