Mill Mountain Theatre Presents Million Dollar Quartet

Roanoke, VA – September 5, 2025. Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall for one of the greatest moments in musical history? This fall, Mill Mountain Theatre gives you the chance. We’re thrilled to announce our production of "Million Dollar Quartet", running from September 17 through October 10, which transports audiences straight into the legendary 1956 recording session at Sun Studio in Memphis.
A special short preview of the show exclusively for press will occur on the Trinkle Main Stage on Thursday, September 11, at 10:00 a.m.
A highlight of this production is the electrifying performance by Joe Boover as Elvis Presley. Boover brings an extraordinary depth to the role—his portrayal is informed by his extensive experience in national tours and performances aboard cruise ships, making him uniquely equipped to channel the charisma and vocal power of the King.
Boover’s career spans Off-Broadway, regional, and international stages where he has excelled as an actor, musician, writer, composer, and music director. His multi-faceted artistry and understanding of musical storytelling promise a vivid, authentic Elvis—full of heart, humor, and history.
Million Dollar Quartet dramatizes the famous one-night jam session of December 4, 1956, when Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis all congregated at Sun Records for an impromptu musical meeting that would become rock-n-roll folklore. With a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, this jukebox musical delivers snap-crackle-pop energy with timeless hits like "That's All Right," "Great Balls of Fire," "Hound Dog," and more.
