Mill Mountain Players
Kicking off the Mill Mountain Players touring season is a stage version of the popular novel Lord of the Flies. When a group of schoolboys become stranded on a desert island, they see it as the chance of a lifetime. A picture perfect universe with new rules and new rulers. But, ruling what? Before long, shadows are creeping everywhere and the night is full of eyes. This well behaved band is transforming into a bloodthirsty and murderous little tribe. Lord of the Flies toured to area high schools October 1-27, 2007. |
The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stoopid Tales will tour to elementary schools February 25 – March 28, 2008
NEW! 2008 - 2009 TOUR INFO
|
The Mill Mountain Players (MMP) touring program was launched in 1999 as a solution for educators who found it increasingly difficult to organize field trips to Mill Mountain Theatre for student matinees. Since that time, the numbers of communities and students served have grown exponentially. Now, in addition to serving area schools, the Players perform across the Commonwealth, enabling Mill Mountain Theatre to extend its reach and deepen its artistic and educational impact. |
MMT firmly believes in the long-lasting benefits live, professional theatre has on a child's ability to learn, process and express. Our student programs are designed to encourage creativity and foster lifelong learning in every child.
Each Mill Mountain Player is a professional actor contracted to spend the season at MMT. In addition to performing in both touring productions, the actors will also appear in shows on both the Trinkle and Waldron Stages.
